Allah’s Hurricanes and Man’s Heedlessness

Salam aleikum, Muslims. An early Ramadan Karim to you all!

Yesterday evening, I saw that Gustav was poised to make landfall not tomorrow, but today. Naturally, I worried for my parents. Hamdulillah, they have a safe place to ride it out. But this morning I saw how many had left New Orleans, having learned from Katrina. Even a family fleeing New Orleans for Atlanta died just 20 miles from the destination when the car went off I-20 and crashed into a tree. 6 died, 2 survived. Imagine that! When Allah wants us, we’re gone. Someone who had just arrived at a shelter said to a news crew “Why does this keep happening to New Orleans?” She had just gotten dry from Katrina flooding and now had to evacuate again. Well, that’s what happens when you live in hurricane alley and then become desensitized to what Allah hates, like homosexuality, gambling, and political corruption. These are things for which the area is known. And as we speak, TS Hannah is spinning off of the Bahamas, just became a hurricane, and is expected to come up the Florida and Georgia coasts.

Many kuffar and also many murji wuslims will say that Allah doesn’t send punishments depsite the Bible and Qur’an both saying otherwise. They will swear that Allah doesn’t punish at all. Allah said about them. “And surely, We have created many of the jinn and mankind for Hell. They have hearts with which they do not understand, they have eyes with which they do not see, and they have ears with which they do not hear. They are like cattle, rather they are more astray. It is they who are the heedless.” [Al-A’raf 7:179] Then Allah says in Anbiya, verse 1, “Draws near for mankind their reckoning, while they turn away in heedlessness.” They refuse to wake up and smell the bacon they’re burning until they are dead and taken to task. “And the intoxication of death will come in truth, that is what you were trying to avoid. And the horn will be blown, that is the Day of which warning had been given. And every soul will come forth, with it an angel to drive it and an angel to bear witness. It will be said: Indeed you were in heedlessness of this, now We have removed from you your covering, and sharp is your sight this Day.” [Qaaf 50:19-22] I reiterate my earlier point in order to make baraah from such people no matter what religion they claim; the increase in hurricanes and their damage are definitely punishments from on high. The last time Andrew really mashed up Florida and Louisiana, you had a Bush in office, fighting Muslims. Now you have a Bush in office fighting Muslims even worse than before and you have a series of even worse hurricanes. Coincidence? I don’t think so!
